It's been a work of love and learning for us here at Conard County. When two sons decide their mother should have a website for her beloved Conard County books, things can get a bit interesting. We've had a lot to learn, and were a bit ambitious when we started this project. A lot of stuff that we put into the site worked out well, some turned out to be unneeded, and other stuff just didn't work.No-one can be as demanding as the owner of a website. Particularly one who writes for a living! We've had more than one tiff about what the site should say or do, but all in all, things have worked out well. (We love you Mom!)
We've had alot of requests for improvement to the site over the past year, and David and I have made plans to overhaul the site. We've already begun the work, and here are some of the improvements we expect with the rebuilt site:
1) An updated commenting system so you can comment on more of the content of the site, ask questions for Rachel when she blogs, or participate in an upcomming seminar on creating a world to write a book about.
2) Improved colors to enhance readability.
3) Easier navigation
4) Updated artwork around the site.
5) And finally! Our first contest! (No peeking).
We're both heartened by the many of you who have visited us, left complements and suggestions for Rachel, and who've participated in the site. Mom always hoped this would be a neat place for folks to hang out, and we think this update will get us alot closer.

Thanks so much for visiting the site and for your kind comments. After THE UNEXPECTED HERO, the next book will be THE MAN FROM NOWHERE, to be published in Feb. 2010.
I'm not sure when we'll put up the sneak peek, although you can read a little about the book in the blogs. I suspect, though, that we'll wait until after we revamp the website over the next month or two.
