THE MAN FROM NOWHERE has been edited but I still don't have a pub date on it.
My daughter urged me to read the TWILIGHT series by Stephenie Meyer. For those of you who love vampires, this has got to be one of the best. It sure kept me reading straight through four books.
In fact, since I'm between contracts at the moment, it has inspired me to write my own Young Adult novel. No vampires in mine, sorry to say. But would you settle for an angel? I'm humming along on it, and every time my daughter (16) reads, she winds up stomping her foot and saying, "I want more! Hurry up!" I hate to tell her that I'm as eager for the rest of it as she is. The story just won't fly out of my fingertips as fast as I wish.
But Holly's eagerness is balm to the writer's soul, especially when publishers are as edgy in these times as anyone.
Our new kitten is growing fast, and has become incredibly loving. Her favorite place to sleep is smack between the two of us in our bed. Under the covers when its cold, above when its not. In the morning if I don't get up soon enough (for her) she tap dances on my head. As soon as I can, I'll post a photo of her with our dog over on Kinli's page. I'm not sure he likes sharing the limelight even though he adores Callie, but too bad.
I'm also slated to give a workshop at the RT convention in Orlando. Can I say I'm getting cold feet? The public speaking thing is not my favorite.
I hope all of you are well and managing to get through this difficult time. Certainly an historic time in so many ways.
Hugs,
Rachel Lee
