Well, it's that time of year again. Celebrating the Declaration of Independence and watching the cat and dog try frantically to hide from the sounds of fireworks. This is Callie's first Fourth, and she spent a lot of time on the stairway landing last night mewling. Not as bad, however, as our late beloved Molly who managed to break nearly every tooth in her head trying to chew her way out of the house one year.
I'm sitting here with another proposal almost done. What a relief! After two weeks of pounding my head on the keyboard and staring at a blank page with only two words on it, the ideas finally arrived. The hero will be Mike Windwalker, the local vet, a Native American who pretty much keeps to himself because he is well aware of local prejudice. The heroine: a feisty lady who supports herself and her disabled daughter by buying and renovating old houses before selling them.
She is being stalked by a man who left a deadly secret within the walls of her current project. It should be spooky as well as suspenseful at the same time.
Also, have a question for you. I'm considering writing a vampire romance. Would you want to read it if I publish at least parts of it here as a work-in-progress?

Hope you're having a wonderful holiday weekend.
